Hi, my name is Lauren and I am the founder of Girly Pop. I grew up in New York and have now made New Jersey my home. I run restaurants created by my talented husband, Ryan. Of course i can not forget to mention my whole world- my fun-loving pup, Olive and my sweet boy cat, Poe! Their support and love is why i was able to make my Girly Pop dream come true.
Girly Pop came into fruition when i became frustrated by the jewelry markets that i was seeing and experiencing. With my skin being highly irritable and sensitive, i found it nearly impossible to find cute, affordable jewelry that didnt give me an uncomfortable itch! I wondered if it was possible to create a jewelry company that focuses solely on providing jewelry that does not irritate the skin, while also being good quality, affordable and cute !
Additionally, i wanted to only sell jewelry that is handmade in the USA. If it is made in the USA, chances are that safe and moral labor practices are guaranteed. I figured that the easiest way to ensure this, was to hand-make all of my jewelry myself!
As a young woman, i always loved expanding my closet with different clothes. I loved all girly looks: hyper feminine, gothic, classic, elegant, colorful, sleek, and chic! Growing up as a lover of theater, i always loved dressing up! One day a cowgirl the next day a preppy girly-girl, to one of my fav classic styles: chic-goth. I was able to find clothing to expand my taste without forming a major hole in my wallet, but i could not find affordable jewelry to match my eclectic closet.
I wanted to build my jewelry box closet the same way i built my clothing closet; filled with varying styles, colors and looks. So i set out on a mission to make this dream come true.
I spent months finding cute and glowing materials and then testing the materials to see how my skin (and others) would react. After many long months of trial and error, i was able to create necklaces that did not give my skin a reaction, and which did not change colors in an unwanted fashion. *Hallelujah* !
I worked day and night to curate a variety of dainty and elegant necklaces that would meet my wide range of styles.
The Gothic Charm Collection was created for those forever gothic girlies. This collection was designed to add an elegant twist to a classic and loves style.
The Proper Pink Collection was made to bring a girly-girls outfits together with cute, fun, and Pink flare.
The Dainty Pop Collection is designed to have gorgeous staple pieces that add a pretty and shining glow to any outfit. These pieces are versatile and can be worn every day, with any look.
